Refund and Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to services, sessions, digital products, resources, and related purchases made through GovCareer.ca.

By booking a session, purchasing a service, or accessing a digital product or resource, you agree to this Policy.

1. General Policy

GovCareer.ca provides independent, fee-based career advisory services related to Canadian government, public-sector, and structured hiring processes.

Because services often involve reserved time, pre-session review, preparation, personalized guidance, or digital access, refunds are limited as described below.

2. Strategy Sessions

Strategy Sessions are paid advisory sessions delivered by Google Meet.

Payment is required before the session unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Rescheduling

You may reschedule a Strategy Session with at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time.

Rescheduling requests should be made through the booking platform or by contacting info@govcareer.ca as early as possible.

4. Cancellations by Client

If you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled session, you may request either:

A rescheduled session; or

A refund, less any non-refundable payment processing fees where applicable.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the payment may be non-refundable because the time was reserved for you and preparation may already have occurred.

5. Missed Sessions / No-Shows

If you miss a scheduled session or do not attend within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, the session may be considered forfeited and no refund will be issued.

Exceptions may be considered at the discretion of GovCareer.ca in cases of emergency, serious technical issues, or circumstances outside the client’s control.

6. Late Arrival

If you arrive late, the session may still end at the originally scheduled time.

A late arrival does not automatically extend the session or qualify for a partial refund.

7. Cancellations by GovCareer.ca

If GovCareer.ca needs to cancel or reschedule a session, you will be offered a new session time.

If a suitable new time cannot be arranged, you may request a refund for the cancelled session.

8. Digital Products and Downloadable Resources

Digital products, guides, templates, PDFs, downloads, and other digital resources are generally non-refundable once accessed, downloaded, delivered, or made available.

If you experience a technical problem accessing a digital product, contact info@govcareer.ca within 3 days of purchase so the issue can be reviewed and resolved where possible.

9. Resume, Application, and Interview Support Services

Refund eligibility for resume, application, interview, or other personalized support depends on the stage of service delivery.

Once work has started, materials have been reviewed, advice has been provided, a session has taken place, or a personalized service has been delivered, payments may be partially or fully non-refundable.

If a service is cancelled before work begins, a refund may be considered, less any processing fees or administrative costs where applicable.

10. No Outcome-Based Refunds

Refunds are not provided because a client does not receive an interview, job offer, pool placement, promotion, or other employment outcome.

GovCareer.ca does not control employer decisions, hiring timelines, screening results, interview scores, labour-market conditions, or competition outcomes.

11. Payment Processing Fees

Payment processors such as Stripe may charge processing fees. Where applicable, these fees may be non-refundable.

Refund amounts may be reduced by any non-refundable payment processing fees or administrative costs where permitted.

12. Chargebacks

If you have a concern about a payment, session, service, or digital product, contact GovCareer.ca first at info@govcareer.ca so the issue can be reviewed.

Clients agree to make reasonable efforts to resolve billing or service concerns directly before initiating a chargeback.

13. How to Request a Refund or Reschedule

Please include your name, email address used for booking or purchase, date of purchase, service purchased, and a brief explanation of the request.

14. Changes to This Policy

GovCareer.ca may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
